Ahh what a night today! When you sleep in a sleeping bag for a longer time, you really start to miss the usual sleeping positions. And in my case it’s the starfish or the lying superman😅 So yesterday night I thoroughly inspected cleanliness of my bed, sheets and pillow covers and concluded that they are clean enough and I don’t have to hide in my sleeping bag from all the bugs tonight. But I still spread it underneath me, just in case😄 Then I covered myself with both blankets and hoped I will be warm enough. And hell I was! Once I even felt adventurous and pulled out my arms from underneath the mountain of blankets for a while! And starfish position ensured I had a really good night sleep😉
It felt like a lazy Sunday morning today. I slept for 9 hours, after I woke up I didn’t need to hurry so was just lying in bed listening to music for one hour. Got up around 8, got ready and went to eat sth for breakfast. Total chillax that made me happy for the rest of the day.
I went to explore the village after breakfast, bought ORS – which was the goal of my stroll, talked to some familiar faces, shared plans, took some pictures and then headed back to the hotel. We chose to do the Gangapurna lake side trip for better acclimatization. The total gained elevation was only 200m so nothing crazy but I was glad I didn’t have to climb to Ice lake (1000m higher).. I’m still bit weak after the food poisoning and I want to take it easy until I feel good again. Otherwise I’m screwed when crossing Thorong La😉
The lake was nice and only 30mins away, we also climbed a bit higher to enjoy views of Gangapurna, Annapurna II, III and IV, Tilicho peak, Cholu peak and Langtang.
It’s getting quite windy here after 11am so it’s not possible to stay somewhere up without moving for to long and since it was around lunch time, we headed back to the village. My lunch consisted of plain rice. Yummy. I just hope the stupid diarrhea stops ASAP so I have to play it safe for couple of days. Duh. I’m already sick and tired of bread of any kind and I’m missing vitamins so much! That’s why I kinda risked a little bit during lunch and ordered sea buckthorn juice – supposedly has the highest vitamin content of all fruits and veggies, so let’s hope I will be ok after that.
It started to rain a while ago and I feel super tired, although it’s just half past 6 and I didn’t even walk that much today. Probably the change of pressure. It’s also supposed to snow tonight, let’s see in the morning. One more thing, I’m not staying another day in Manang though – all my fellow trekking friends are leaving to Yak Kharka tomorrow and I don’t wanna be left alone here so decision had to be made🙂
And now, at 19:52 I’m already lying in my bed again, ready to fall asleep. I wake up at 1 for one hour anyway, so why not to have already 4 hours of sleep behind me, right😉
