I woke up with Bruno Mars singing in my head (‘Lucky for you that’s what I like, that’s what I like‘) and he kept playing there the whole day. It didn’t help to listen to the song several times😅
So with Bruno Mars as the background for everything I did today, we started our trekking around 8 by climbing quite steep section with around 500m of elevation. Lonely Planet described the climb as tough, criss-cross, super steep long one and so we all were a bit afraid what to expect but it wasn’t like that at all. Yeah, it was steep sometimes but not like I would spit out my lungs while going up. I actually enjoyed it because it took us only 30 minutes and since then it was mostly flat (meaning up and down). There was just one more steep section during the trek when we had to descend to the valley only to climb back up on the other side, but again – it was over in 15 minutes.
The highest point of today was at 2720m but the village we are staying at now (Chame) is at 2710m. We also walked through Koto where we had to show our permits – that was 3,5h after the start. Chame was just 20 minutes further. So in total, we walked for 4h but it could have been done in 3.
Funny thing is going on here now – we, the trekkers, are the ones who are waitig for our guides and ‘making them’ not to have a break lolz.. It should be the other way around! Maybe they were having a bad day today, who knows😅 But I really hope they man up cuz it just gets more and more difficult from now on.
So we were done at noon today, leaving us with plenty of time to chillax, go around the village and shop for snacks for later in my case😁 I also wanted to buy some postcards and send them right away, since there was a post office nearby but…none of the shops nor the post office sells them. Weird. And I really didn’t feel like sending a letter😅
So pretty easy day today. Lucky for me that’s what I like, that’s what I like😜
