Roman was leaving to Kunming today so I was supposed to be alone, but he changed his ticket to leave in the evening and so we decided to spend our last hours in Shangri-La by biking around the Napa Lake, which proved to be a very good idea!😉
The whole trip was around 40km long and after we climbed the first and only hill on our way, we were biking mostly on a flat plane. First we came to a lake, which was surrounded by grasslands where cattle and other domestic animals were grazing and all that was surrounded by high Himalayan mountains. Really amazing.
Somewhere along the way, there was another biker going towards us. He stopped, didn’t speak a word in English, but somehow we managed to understand that he’s going to Lhasa on a bike. WOW! What a trip, right? The only thing I envy Chinese people is that they can visit Tibet without stupid regulations😣
In the middle of our trip, Roman realized he lost his bus ticket somewhere – then he concluded that he must have thrown it into the garbage at the hostel reception. So we called them, they checked the garbage bin (yuck) and surprisingly they found the ticket! After that, Roman decided to sprint back to the hostel (better not to have more unlucky surprises, right?) and I stayed alone. I didn’t mind, I was enjoying my ride, took a lot of pictures, was breathing fresh mountain air and had super good time😊 See for yourself:
We met with Roman at the hostel because I managed to ride quite fast and he invited me for goodbye potato pancake (basically Czech bramborak, or placek as we say at home😂).
